Tony Prince, founded DMC with his wife Christine in February 1983. He had introduced DJ mixing into his Radio Luxembourg dance music programme in 1981 exposing the developing art to 50 million listeners. His career began as a singer and became a full time DJ when the UK Musicians Union expelled him for playing records when the band had a break. He became part of the small team of musical mutineers, the UK 60's pirates who broadcast from Radio Caroline. He then joined Radio Luxembourg and stayed with Europe's largest commercial radio station for 16 years.

A week to go. I hate this long period of submissions and can’t wait to see what you have in store for the world in the second round. I can tell you we have just over 30 entries so far so with a TOP TEN to aim for, you have a big chance here to land your performance in the spotlight. Ramsey in the USA wanted to enter the DMC LIVE champs playing cassettes which we don’t cater to. But you can use ABSOLUTELY any playback equipment in the DMC ONLINE DJ CHAMPIONSHIPS. Get your grandaddy’s old 78 shelack records out, bring a 36 track studio state of the art desk into play if that’s what you think will make you win. We’re all watching, not just for great turntablists or club DJ styles, we’re looking to see where the DJ is going to take the world next? Let me remind you that if you win this, we’ll see you in London at the incredible two day DMC DJ FESTIVAL 27/28 September. Even if you’re in Australia, your trip will be paid for.
