TWO WEEKS TO LIFT OFF

We’re almost there. It all seems a little antic-climatical all this waiting to see the filmed entries and the great DJs of the world. At the moment we have approaching 20 entries, with two weeks to go I know many of you will be practicing as long as possible until you have your film and your set just right. The great news is there are dozens of sites who have taken the DMC ONLINE DJ CHAMPIONSHIP widget which will not only show the year ahead on their own site but will allow DJs to enter and people to vote just as they can here on the DMCWORLD.COM web site.

I said it last year and I’ll say it again, even if you don’t think you will win, it’s time to get your name out there and build your reputation, get the experience of performing in front of 100 million people.
There are THREE heats (submission periods) and, especially as it’s free to enter this year, you can enter and re-enter in all three until you get into the final 30 and the last stages of this amazing DJ contest. Thanks go again to our great DJ equipment sponsors, these are the companies who care about you, who want to stay close to your art so they can fine-tune their products to take you forward. SUPPORT THEM LIKE THEY SUPPORT YOU TODAY.
Lastly, take a look and listen to this interview in dmc’s online magazine DMCWORLD.NET. Check out the size of audience Fatboy Slim has played to in recent years - http://www.dmcworld.net/features/entry/news/fatboy-slim.html.

Fatboy Slim was taught to mix by Carl Cox. And where did Carl Cox start his career? By entering - (and losing) - in a DMC heat many years ago!
This event is the greatest method of gaining reputation and experience than anything else in the world so let’s be seeing you!

I’ll be talking to you again soon. BE GREAT!

Tony Prince.
Here are our great friends at a DMC charity lunch Carl Cox chatting to Caroline Prothero manager of the World’s number 1 club DJ David Guetta. We all go back a long long way and we’re all very great buddies.
