Tony Prince, founded DMC with his wife Christine in February 1983. He had introduced DJ mixing into his Radio Luxembourg dance music programme in 1981 exposing the developing art to 50 million listeners. His career began as a singer and became a full time DJ when the UK Musicians Union expelled him for playing records when the band had a break. He became part of the small team of musical mutineers, the UK 60's pirates who broadcast from Radio Caroline. He then joined Radio Luxembourg and stayed with Europe's largest commercial radio station for 16 years.

Talenthouse have estimated that through their network the DMC 2012 ONLINE DJ CHAMPIONSHIP will be viewed by over 100 million fans this year. I’m sure last year’s 1.7million will be back for more because 2011 was absolutely wicked. I was driving through our little town London yesterday and thought I’d show you where you were coming if you win this contest. This is Buckingham Palace where my dear aunty Elizabeth lives. The 2012 DMC LIVE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS will be held not too far from here around September. I’ll be popping up with comments from time to time as will Sally on the DMC blog. I hope you’ll join in the conversations, get involved and I hope you’ll scour the earth to get people to come here and vote. The more people who vote, the more people who will understand how much talent there is in the DJ world. And, lastly, as I have always said over 28 years of announcing the new DMC WORLD DJ CHAMPIONS, it’s not the winning, it’s being involved, getting your name around, building your set to the level where one day you might here me say, “The winner is…..YOU”!

Remember there will only ever be one annual winner of this contest, no one can win twice (sorry to Germany’s Uncut but you now have your title which I know you cherish).
