Hi! We haven’t spoken for a while, been very busy here at DMC. I hope all goes well for you all and that many of you are already planning your attack for the 2012 DMC ONLINE DJ CHAMPIONSHIP. But right now we’re planning to be in Birmingham England for a major DJ exhibition this week-end. I’ll be giving a talk on THE HISTORY OF DJ on Sunday afternoon. Then we are sliding downhill to the 2011 DMC DJ CHAMPIONSHIP FESTIVAL and I hope to see lots of you there. We’ll be meeting our sponsors and future sponsors and it made me think hos great sponsors have been to DMC and our DJs over the years. Here’s a picture of the rig Turbosound flew for us at the Royal Albert Hall back in the day. Beneath this rig Cash Money and Cutmaster Swift were born, James Brown, Janet Jackson and Run DMC stood beneath it. Thanks sponsors - the future looks fantastic for those dealing in DJ products!

I was at Tony’s talk at BPM in Birmingham on sunday, and thoroughly enjoyed it! He went right from the very beginning when recording was in it’s infancy on wax cylinders all the way up to today’s technology. Along the way he spoke about and showed slides and articles from his own personal collection, including Elvis’s own transistor radio which was embossed with his initials. He also spoke of how he famously got chucked out of the Musicians Union for playing recorded music! His stories were fascinating, and i’d happily sit for hours listening to his anecdotes of antics through the years with people who became household names.
I was lucky enough to get the honour of meeting Tony after the seminar and had my photo taken with him. He is a genuinely nice guy who is only too happy to spend time chatting with the DJs of today he effectively helped to create all those years ago.

I for one will be going to his seminar again next year at BPM. Thank you Tony! :-)
