I’d have given you more attention if I hadn’t been so distracted by your girlfriends feet in the top left of the screen. And what’s that fan effect on the left deck?
It’s quite amazing how the public voters seem to very quickly latch on to the Top 5 best performances and the end of the Round results are about the same.
STYLXTKT will be having a ticker-tape parade through Singapore this week-end if he can hold on to his No.1 spot which he has done for most of Round 4 with very live challenges from America’s Immortal and New Zealand’s DJ Impact, he’ll be hot favourite to win the World Champions votes on Friday and land in the 6 minute August Grand Final.
Beneath the top 3 lie the cavalry headed by another German who hopes to join his fellow countryman Unkut in the finals.
Lots of USA DJs in the charge and well they need to be because their old adversaries, UK, already have three of the six final slots.
To check out all previous round results and judges voting go to COMPETITION drop down to RESULTS and choose the round you want to review.
DO WE HAVE THE ONLINE WORLD CHAMPION YET, HAVE YOU SEEN SOMEONE WHO POTENTIALLY WILL TAKE THE $3000 TITLE AND TRIP TO LONDON’S OCTOBER LIVE CHAMPIONSHIPS? I’d be very interested in your opinion. Post it here by all means.
Anyway Round 4’s most visitors came from the following countries:
1 USA - 2 UK - 3 Singapore - 4 Japan - 5 New Zealand - 6 Germany - 7 Canada - 8 Italy - 9 Australia - 10 Spain.
France, one of the world’s leading turntablist territories have only sent enough visitors to fill the 11th position on MOST VISITS. That surprises me. Visitors are not necessarily voters and it’s significant that the TOP 5 MOST VISITING COUNTRIES also have DJ’s in the Top 5 other than the UK who are not showing very well even though we had the second most visitors
I think this points to the integrity of voting. The UK DJ’s will not have one DJ in the Top 10 at 5pm tomorrow unless Sole 1 (currently 14th) can make a final surge in the last 24 hours.
So good luck to one and all, to the Top 10 at 5pm close tomorrow and to the Top 2 finalists at 5pm Friday.
As usual, the minute a Round ends the next Round begins and I think the next round will be very exciting.
In actual fact I think the standards will just grow and grow over the next 7 remaining rounds, less DJs maybe because many will be intimidated by the standards of performance we’re witnessing.
But, let me tell you once again, the only way to become great at your art is to build up your confidence, enter as many heats as you can EVEN IF YOU DON’T FEEL YOU WILL BEAT OTHERS IN THE COMPETITION. Just keep improving and one day you’ll make a Top 10, one day you might make the Top 2 finalists.
But, here’s the point, next year you’re reputation as a warrior and an improver will be recognized and you’ll find your confidence has grown along with your performances.
Sit there shivering in the corner looking at you decks and that’s where you’ll remain which is fine by me if that’s where you want to be.
And a word to non-competing DJs and fans who appreciate the art and what goes into becoming a World Champion, go out of your way to support the contestants in the DMC ONLINE DJ CHAMPIONSHIP by bigging them up when they’re great, pointing out a sequence that impressed you, even if you don’t think they will win. Just giving them encouragement will make them feel it’s all worthwhile.

You may have heard that the Round 4 results clash with a Royal Wedding in England on Friday. But you’ll be pleased to know that this Prince gave his invite up to Elton John as I much prefer watching the mixing results rather than mixing with other royals at Buckingham Palace.
I’ll leave you with another back-in-the-day photo when scratch-tricks were all the rage.
This was Hutchie in the 88 UK Finals. He might have won if the needle hadn’t punctured his tyre!!!!!
