THE 4th ROUND IS ALMOST UPON US.

Listen, DJ Creative, your last 20 seconds was great but people won’t have watched till that sequence. Your lighting and camera angle isn’t helping you. Lift the camera so’s we can see you at work and play around with the lights so it doesn’t look like you and your shadow are in a Team Championship!

Scratchtastic over there in Belgium, I was just getting into your thing when you ran out of time. You might try moving that light from behind you and put a light this side of the camera so the light is shining on you and the decks. Backlight is never good for filming, it’s the same with still cameras which is why photographers have the sun shining at you not behind you. God, you’ve spent your life becoming great turntablists now Princey is putting you through a filming course!
I only want you to do well and for the viewer to stay with you.

There are great prizes here every two weeks for the winner and the runner up but you’re all winners when you enter because you have decided to show us your courage and your talent and what you are doing is making a name for yourself. Look at Cassette from the USA, he hovered at Number 1 for a while and we’ve seen him having a go in all 3 Rounds. Even if Cassette fails to win, by August he will be a million times better known than he was on March 3rd when we set off on this DMC adventure.

So far in the DMC ONLINE DJ CHAMPIONSHIP –
Turntablism 10 – Technologists 0 !!!! Is there really only Shifty who can take us to new places?

With 11 USA DJs in Round 3, it doesn’t look like any will be joining Anubus in the Final. Anubus came runner up in Round 1 and believe me he will now be spending every minute he can working on a SIX MINUTE MIX for the August finals.
Can Cassette haul himself up from five to the top 2, climbing over Dr Weevil (UK), DJ Perk (Singapore) and edging out Ritchie Ruftone (UK) or DJ Cordella (Italy).
These next few hours are crucial as the public make their minds up and the final vinyl votes come in!
Good luck guys, you’ve all got guts and do yourself and your country proud just being in the competition.

Back in the day DJs did tricks making it more difficult to maintain rhythm and tempo. Here’s an example from the 1985 World Final, I think he was Norwegian, looking more like an Australian!

OK, talk to you during Round 4. Please feel free to comment on anything in the Championships, if you think someone’s performed something that impressed you, promote them by writing about them here.
