We have 17 turntable terrorists at it this Round and when Round 7 rings the bell, there will be just 4 more rounds, 4 more opportunities for you to impress the world or at least let everyone know you are here.

As I write we have Romania’s DJ Undoo doing it at the top. Great to see the mighty Eastern European DJs finally getting into the DMC act. Best part for me comes at 1.45. Very slick. And the camera angle is the best yet.
Romania is the 3rd most visiting EUROPEAN country this month so far, third to UK and Germany followed by Belgium (4th) and Italy 5th.
Of the 6 continents Europe had 8,605 visitors whilst America had 7319. In the merry mixing month of May 3133 fans came to view from the UK alone.
With 110,976 visits from 165 countries so far, the DMC ONLINE DJ CHAMPIONSHIP is setting the bar for BIGGEST DJ AUDIENCE EVER!!!
Needless to say this are astounding figures and you can imagine we’re all very pleased, not just for us but for you the DJs and you the fan.

Now, check out that cheeky Vayra from the USA at Number 2 as I write, he makes you feel like you’re up against him in a DMC Battle for World Supremacy!!! THIS GUY HAS ATTITUDE in bucket loads!

I’m off to Switzerland to the International Radio Festival June 15th when myself and some DJ mates of mine who once broadcast from a ship to the UK to make the government get their act together with radio, basically because in Britain and Europe we had nothing before Radio Caroline sailed into everyone’s lives. I’ll let you have the web site where you can listen if you want to and if you want me to send you a big-up on the show, drop me an e-mail with your message to [email protected].

Lastly to my German friends, we have had 6,933 visits and the top 10 cities have been:
Berlin – Hannover – Munich – Stuttgart – Hamburg – Wuppertal – Cologne – Dusseldorf – Frankfurt – Pederborn. My message to you is:

Vielen Dank an alle unsere Freunde in Deutschland von dem kleinen Prinzen mit dem Großen Musik

Talk to you in the week ahead, have a great week-end and check out the first ever DMC logo which I designed back in 1983 when we couldn;t afford a graphic artist!!!

Bloody Tony Prince.

The logo for me personally has a sense of nostalgia.
It takes me down memory lane to when I was 14 yr old boy.
The year was 1987, my older brother and I use to save up like mad, work for my dad, do paper rounds anything really just to save then £20.00 a month so we could send to dmc to receive their mixes.
We use to anticipatley wait every month to see what tracks we would receive.
We were never disappointed. The logo above was the front cover.

My brother and I where mad into mixing and scratching and lucky for us we had the 1210′s then. (thanks bank of dad).
We had bought the 1987 world mixing championships video and we studied like crazy do all the cuts and scratches.

I Remember ringing up Christine prince at the age of 14 asking if she listen to my mix, which i had sent in asking if she would put on the records that they would send out on the mailing list.
She gave me sound advise and said” good mix but improve on the beat match” looking back she was right (lol).

1988 when I was 15 I entered the UK dmc championships. My heats was at Regals in Uxbridge where I met Tony, the man himself.
I never got far then I guess it was my age and going against what I thought then were big men. That year i went to watch the UK Finals, man, Cutmater swift, Dj pogo and Dj Biznizz were phenomenal.

I also went to the world finals. I was like a boy in the sweet shop. The venue was a packed Royal Albert Hall. I saw perform, Public enemy, Big Daddy Kane and the Godfather himself James Brown. It was clear that there was only one winner.
Dj Cash Money who was deservedly crowned world Champ.

So Thank you Tony and Christine Prince for putting up that logo, it reminded me my fond childhood.

I am now reliving my youth again both my son and my nephew are turntablist, still rocking the 1210′s with the Rane 57 SL mixers.
My son is 15 and known as Dj WreckDown.

At The age of 15 my son’s done really well. he’s endorsed by a couple of the companies sponsors that are sponsoring the your world championship.
at 14 years old in 2010 he was showcasing for Rane and Serato at BPM. This was the first year we were able to go to the world finals together. Dmc has gone 2 generations in my family.

who knows one day it may my grandson or grand daughter who enters the DMC”s.
    Long live DMC.
    Keep up the good work.

    Thank you
Christine, Tony and Sally for the nostalgia
