Although you won’t see them until 10.00pm PST/ 18.00 GMT, there are around 80 entries. A couple of DJs have entered the same film twice (by mistake I imagine) and will be informed that one will have to be deleted. We have a Polish girl singer who will be deleted. A reminder that performances must be 2 minutes in duration but, because we’re human, we will stretch to a couple of seconds over but don’t think this means the limit is now 2m 5seconds because it isn’t. The time is calculated from start of music to end of music, if you want to say ‘hi to auntie Maria in Miami’, we won’t count this as your performance time but don’t go over the top, we’re not looking for talking DJs or comedians.
A reminder to you who have yet to enter a set that we have made this year free entry to encourage DJs from the poorer parts of the world to get into our dmcworld. You might say ‘how they manage to buy their kit if they’re in a poor country’ but they have youth clubs and benefactors and the DMC DJ Championships give wanna be DJs their first break in life. So c’mon and get a two minute set together and don’t worry about winning, worry about getting your name known by the millions and millions of people who will come to vote during the three main voting periods and a final. If you get to the 30 DJ FINAL you’ll definitely have started your career. The DJ world is now a global village, clubland will be paying fortunes for great DJs in the years ahead, YOU CAN USE YOUR TALENTS TO BECOME SUCCESSFUL.
