Tony Prince, founded DMC with his wife Christine in February 1983. He had introduced DJ mixing into his Radio Luxembourg dance music programme in 1981 exposing the developing art to 50 million listeners. His career began as a singer and became a full time DJ when the UK Musicians Union expelled him for playing records when the band had a break. He became part of the small team of musical mutineers, the UK 60's pirates who broadcast from Radio Caroline. He then joined Radio Luxembourg and stayed with Europe's largest commercial radio station for 16 years.

The WORLD’S GREATEST DMC DJ PERFORMANCE was an interesting feature to help entertain you between the 2011 and 2012 ONLINE DJ CHAMPIONSHIP. DJ FLY was the outsider who romped home in a photo finish with the legendary CRAZE. Q-Bert, Mixmaster Mike and Apollo (The Dream Team) and Cutmaster Swift were also amongst the votes and I know Swifty is very happy indeed that his supporters could get him into joint 3rd place. I know you will always argue over the result and would whichever way things had turned out, it was a difficult thing to evaluate how great a pioneer back in the day was compared to let’s say a Team with technology etc. these days In their day so many of the DJs we featured couldn’t be beat and were all Kings in their Time. So well done FLY - felicitation!
Now it’s time…..a new year, new heats around the world, new national and world championship finals, new ONLINE DJ Championship opportunities. This is Year 2 for the DMC ONLINE and year 29 for THE DMC WORLD’S. I hope everyone appreciates the hard work Sally in the UK, Christie in New York, people like Wilfrid in France and our branch managers do to ensure this remains THE GREATEST DJ COMPETITION IN THE WORLD.
